England’s second city, right in the centre of the country, is great place to visit and also to use as a base for discovering many other towns and cities in the Midlands. Its location along with excellent air, rail and road links make it an excellent weekend destination. The National Exhibition Centre hosts many major conferences and events throughout the year across all areas of interest.
Aston Villa have been the dominant football club in the city for a while with their city rivals, Birmingham City, not having been in the Premier League since their last relegation at the end of the 2005-06 season. Villa’s glory days were in the early eighties with a League title in 1981 followed by their European Cup triumph against Bayern Munich in 1982.
