The bustling, diverse city of Amsterdam has much to offer both the first-time and returning visitor. Walking around a city is always best, so that you don’t miss anything, but in Amsterdam you also have the option of buses, trams and river cruises. The Heineken Experience and Anne Frank house are two excellent attractions to visit, and booking your tickets in advance is recommended to avoid the queues at the booking office on the day.
The recently renamed Johan Cruijff Arena is home to both Ajax and the Dutch national team. Transport links to the stadium are excellent with two metro stops, Duivendrecht and BijlmerArena very close by. Ajax have always been one of the dominant clubs in the Netherlands and hold most records available in domestic football. They also have four European Cups / Champions League triumphs to their name, including three in a row in the early seventies.
